Gems in the Shadow
A Community for Healing, Personal Growth, & Shadow Integration
Gems in the Shadow is a heart-centered space dedicated to supporting those who are navigating their healing journeys, exploring their inner world, and learning to integrate the parts of themselves that often remain unseen. Shadow work can feel overwhelming, confusing, or isolating — but you don’t have to walk through it alone.
Our community is grounded, compassionate, and co-facilitated by Melissa Keating and Katrina Wiese, two practitioners who blend intuitive wisdom with trauma-informed, accessible guidance.
Together, they create a space where people can be held, witnessed, and supported while uncovering their inner brilliance — the gems in the shadow.
Meet Your Facilitators
Katrina Wiese
Katrina is an herbalist, intuitive practitioner, meditation teacher, and certified Usui Reiki Master and Tuning Fork Sound Healer. Her work is rooted in the belief that every person carries an innate wisdom — a natural rhythm that, when honored, supports emotional, physical, and spiritual wellbeing.
Through plant medicine, energy healing, meditation, and trauma-informed support, Katrina creates nurturing spaces where healing can unfold gently and with intention. Her calm, steady presence invites others to reconnect with their inner harmony, release what no longer serves, and cultivate a deeper relationship with themselves. Her approach honors the whole person. She meets each individual with compassion, presence, and respect, supporting them as they move toward balance, clarity, and a more soul-led way of being.
Melissa Keating
Melissa is a trauma-informed intuitive healer, meditation teacher, and transformational guide with a professional background in design, leadership, and corporate wellbeing programs. She blends mindfulness, shadow-work practices, intuitive guidance, and shamanic healing training to create spaces that are both grounded and deeply supportive.
Across her work — whether holding space for personal healing or guiding clients in authentic, heart-centered marketing — Melissa is dedicated to helping people reconnect with who they truly are. She supports individuals in understanding their inner patterns, reclaiming their voice, and moving forward with clarity, confidence, and compassion. Her approach integrates practical tools with energetic insight, offering steady guidance for meaningful and sustainable inner change.
Together, Melissa and Katrina offer a powerful combination of insight, compassion, and grounded guidance.

Our Mission
Shadow work isn’t about fighting what’s hidden —it’s about uncovering the parts of yourself that have been waiting to be seen.
It’s a process of remembering what was quieted or overlooked, and walking alongside others who honor the courage it takes to grow.
Whether you join our in-person Monthly Community Circle or the Online Monthly Membership you’ll be met with steadiness, compassion, and supportive guidance every step of the way.

Frequently Asked Questions
This FAQ offers gentle guidance around the practical details of Gems in the Shadow — things like what to expect, how the circles are structured, and how to prepare. It’s simply here to help you feel comfortable and informed as you step into this work, giving you a clear, grounded sense of how everything flows.
What happens at the monthly in-person Gems in the Shadow circle?
The Community Circle is our donation-based, drop-in gathering. We explore grounding practices, shadow-work concepts, reflection, and optional sharing. Each circle is compassionate, structured, and fully consent-based so you can participate in whatever way feels right for you.
Do I need experience with shadow work?
Not at all. Shadow work is simply the gentle exploration of the parts of yourself you’ve tucked away — old patterns, emotions, or beliefs that are ready to be understood and healed. Whether you’re new to this work or more experienced, you’ll be supported every step of the way in any of the Gems in the Shadow offerings.
Is this an addiction recovery community?
Gems in the Shadow is not a recovery group. Anyone engaged in personal growth or inner healing is welcome.
Is this therapy or a substitute for therapy?
No. Gems in the Shadow is a supportive, trauma-informed community space, but it is not therapy and should not be used in place of professional mental health care. We are not licensed therapists. While many people find this work supportive alongside their therapeutic process, it is not clinical treatment. Participants are responsible for their own decisions, needs, and wellbeing throughout their experience.
Can I join if I'm going through a difficult time, and do I have to share?
As long as you’re not in active crisis, you’re welcome here. Sharing is always optional; you can participate in the way that feels safest and most comfortable.
Is there a spiritual or religious framework?
No specific belief system is required or taught. Our approach is grounded, inclusive, and accessible to all backgrounds. We both have experience in energy medicine, and while that informs the tone of the space, it does not define a religious or spiritual path.
Do I need to register?
The Gems in the Shadow Community Circle is drop-in, no registration needed.
If you’re interested in deeper, more guided support, the Gems Monthly Membership, is a separate paid offering that you can join when and if you feel called.
